A psychology of hope, giving individuals the capacity to reorient their lives and fulfil their potential.
Anthony Boland is counsellor/psychotherapist, accredited with the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) since 2008. He is also a qualified Clinical Supervisor.
Anthony’s training is in Psychosynthesis, a model of therapy that seeks to support people in reaching their full psychological & spiritual potential. Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, Anthony worked as a secondary school teacher in London. Upon finishing his teaching career, he worked for some years as a school counsellor in East London. He later moved to Madrid where he set up a small private practice.
In 2006, Anthony was invited to set up a Bereavement Service in a London Hospice. This was the beginning of many years working in a Specialist Palliative Care setting, both in London, and more recently, in Marymount Hospital & Hospice, Cork. During this time, Anthony led on the development of counselling and spiritual care services for those living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The experience of working with those facing the end of life issues continues to motivate Anthony in supporting his clients to live their lives as fully as possible.
Anthony is a versatile practitioner and has enjoyed a successful private practice alongside his other roles. He is interested in how our formative years can impact our experience as adults – and is keen to support people with issues that arise in relationships, as well as matters pertaining to self-confidence, sexuality and the inner critic.
